What is Remedial Massage?
Remedial Massage includes a wide range of techniques designed to assess and treat musculoskeletal conditions and aid in the prevention/rehabilitation of any day to day or Sports related injuries. Remedial Massage is a good stand alone therapy or in conjunction with other therapies or part of a specific programme in sports or prevention/rehabilitation.

I work ethically with each client and expect change/ improvement with each treatment, however big or small. I will refer people on to other practitioners should the condition not improve. I am very passionate about educating my clients about their recovery from specific issues and will offer advice on the care of physical issues including stretching/strengthening and management to carry out at home to aid in your recovery.

Conditions suited to Remedial Massage:
Musculoskeletal dysfunction
Arthritis - relief of symptoms
Improved mobility
Neurological disorders
Whiplash
Sinus problems
Frozen shoulder
Functional breathing difficulties
Headaches
Postural problems
Tendonitis: tennis/golfers elbow/bursitis
Impingement syndrome
Piriformis strain injury
Muscle spasm, general tension, aches and pains
Injuries
And many more.

Treatment:
Each treatment is specifically designed to suit each individual, depending on their needs. Each treatment lasts approximately one hour.

Remedial Massage incorporates:

Deep tissue massage
Joint mobilisation
Stretching/Strengtening of body tissue
Postural correct/imbalance

Treatment of injuries: this is one of the most common reasons for remedial massage. The correct treatment at an early stage can prevent a longer term more chronic issue which, if left, can lead to considerable impaired mobility.  This can in turn affect a person's ability at work, sport or quality of life.

Chronic issues: These create a build up of inflammation which, if left, create adhesive scar tissue leading to a reduced range of movement of the affected area. This in turn causes tension and bad posture.

Each technique improves circulation, lymphatic drainage, improved muscle tone, improved performance, stress relief and promotes a feeling of balance and well being.
